Deputy Director, City & County of San Francisco Tax Collector’s Office
Deputy Director Tajel Shah oversees finance and budget, solutions management and IT and human resources for the City & County of San Francisco Tax Collector’s office.
Shah has unique blend of public and private sector experience. Before joining the tax collector’s office, she spent several years managing policy and planning for San Francisco’s Department of Children, Youth and Their Families. Prior to this role she led the global expansion of Organic Inc., a digital agency serving Fortune 500 clients. Shah was also the first woman of color to lead the nation’s largest and oldest inclusive student-led organization, the United States Student Association.
Shah holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children and serves on several boards and commissions, including the San Francisco Unified School District’s Quality Teacher and Education Oversight Committee.
